Topical Retreats

    Every year, the Jesuit Spiritual Center offers a variety of Topical Retreats centering on particular issues of faith. The retreats range from 6-hour workshops to weeklong retreats, and often appeal to specific audiences and/or age groups. For a listing of retreats, or to make a reservation, please scroll down.

A 4-evening retreat February 24, March 3, 10, and 17 will be presented by Fr. Cy Whitaker, S.J. Fr. Whitaker will offer an introduction to the Spiritual Exercises of St. Ignatius and will seek to deepen the prayer habits and spiritual lives of attendees. Each evening will include a specific topic as well as prayer, scripture reading and small-group sharing. The evenings will begin with dinner at 6:00 PM and conclude at 8:30 PM.

The retreat begins with dinner at 6:30 PM on Friday, March 5 and ends with lunch onSunday. The theme for the retreat is "Wrapped in God's LOVE". This retreat is an opportunity to enter into the mystery of this Lenten season by wrapping yourself in silence, reflection, prayer and God's love.

Recovery Retreat for Men Fr. Robert Hanlon, S.J. 5/7/2010 5/9/2010 $195.00
This retreat is for men recovering from alcohol and chemical addiction. It begins on Friday evening with dinner at 6:30 and concludes with lunch on Sunday.  
Contemplative Retreat Fr. Hans Koenen,SJ 6/4/2010 6/10/2010 $425.00
This retreat experience is different from other retreats in that it focuses on methodology. In addition to daily liturgy and quiet times, retreatants spend several periods each day learning and practicing Eastern methods of contemplation, doing the practice rather than listening to a talk. This retreat is a practicum; it's a "how-to" retreat; it's doing contemplation. Group guidance as well as individual sessions with the presenter will be offered.The daily format for the Retreat will include:Group sitting meditations, Walking meditations, Liturgy, and Private interviews. The retreat begins with dinner at 6:30 PM on June 4 and ends with lunch on June 10.
