The Elias Thomas Retreat House

Thanks to the generosity of donors, and in particular Ms. Christina Thomas, the Jesuit Spiritual Center now offers the Elias Thomas Retreat House. The Thomas House caters specifically to smaller retreat groups of between four and eight people, and includes its own chapel, meeting area and kitchen.

The Thomas House incorporates the historic "greenhouse," built in the 1890s, and also a newly constructed addition including bedrooms and bathrooms.

"This marks a big leap forward for us," says Rick Reder, JSC's executive director. "For a long time, we've had smaller groups coming to us wanting a place to make a retreat, but our larger Arrupe and Loyola buildings just weren't practical for them. Well, now we can offer the perfect place."

The Thomas House is located between the Loyola Building and the Jesuit residence, and is only steps from the Little Miami River, the labyrinth and the Willig Chapel. Groups using the Thomas House include parish and school staffs, religious communities, planning groups, etc., as well as smaller retreat groups attending JSC-sponsored events.
